Kids activities YOU CAN DO FOR FREE!

Anyone else often on the lookout for something fun, and where possible free for your little one/s to do? Come on, I can’t be the only one! Don’t get me wrong, I do take my little lady to places where you have to pay, however it all adds up and sometimes the best things in life are free…

I thought it would be fun to put together some ideas and places that cost nothing (except petrol sometimes). Check them out below:
  • THE PARK…So much fun for kids in one place. Other children to play with, and all of the climbing etc tires them out! It is also a great place for mums and dads to be sociable, and have chance to talk to other adults!
  • IKEA…Yes you read that right! You may think I am SO sad but there is so much for little ones to look at and interact with (who knew). They also offer amazing food for kids at great prices.
  • FISH SHOP…The other day I took my little lady to a fish shop for the first time. It was amazing! It was like taking her to an aquarium. She loved seeing so many different fish.
  • WOODS… Going for a nice country stroll in the woods. You can look out for different types of birds and animals, play with sticks, build woodland crafts, and let them run free safely.
  • CHURCH ACTIVITY GROUPS – You don’t have to be religious to go to these groups. All of the ones I have been to have been welcoming and offer free activities for kids. It is also nice for the parents to meet other parents.
  • BEACH – There is no better place for a little one to play. Yes it can be full on for the parents organising everything, but it is so worth it.
  • LIBRARY – As well as hiring and reading books, a local library often has lots of free kids activities These may include Rhyme Time, Under Ones etc. Check out their notice boards for what’s on.
  • WRITE STORIES – Being creative is an amazing thing! Writing a story with your little one will let them use them imaginations and connect with you.
  • HIDE AND SEEK – This game lasts hours in my household! It is so simple yet effective!
  • GARDENING – This is such a fun thing to do! It is fun, yet relaxing for your little one. They also learn life skills.
  • DANCE – We do A LOT of this! I pop Alexa on, and we boogie around the lounge like crazy people! It keeps us fit and makes us smile!
  • BATH – My little lady loves a  bath, & playing in the water. Its sensory play and a different experience for them.
  • SING – I love singing (I’m not very good at it but hey) and it is so fun to sing together.

There here is so much you can do with your children for free! If you have any more suggestions please pop them in the comments as I would love some more ideas! I hope this post has given you some fun tips. Enjoy.
Thanks for reading K x

It's really worth keeping an eye out for local museums. They're usually run by volunteers and so are free to visit. We've got some brilliant ones near us and they are really interesting. They usually have fantastic trails and quizzes for kids too.

We can spend hours at our local garden centre! Checking out the flowers and fountains,
hey; they have small animals like bunnies for sale and a fish shop; they even have a 'prehistoric' area where they basically sell ferns and other old species of plants, but have jazzed it up with huge dinosaur figures for the kids... It's great!
